Dr. Yajue Wu is a Lecturer at the School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield, where he also serves as the Course Director for the MSc Process Safety and Loss Prevention program. He holds BSc and MSc degrees from Tsinghua University (China) and a PhD from the University of Sheffield. His academic career includes post-doctoral research at the University of Edinburgh focusing on tunnel fires and CFD modeling of underground fire dynamics.
Dr. Wu's research spans hydrogen energy systems, fire/explosion dynamics, combustion optimization, and industrial hazard analysis. Key focus areas include:
- Hydrogen flame stability and jet fire hazards in confined spaces
- CFD modeling of tunnel ventilation and smoke control
- Fire spread mechanisms in buildings/underground structures
- Thermochemical processes in industrial furnaces
- Risk assessment methodologies for process safety
His publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on experimental and computational fire dynamics, with recent work advancing CFD simulations for metro tunnel safety under varying thermal conditions. Earlier research established foundational insights into hydrogen-hydrocarbon flame stability and tunnel fire ventilation strategies.
