Yael Karshon is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Toronto and Tel-Aviv University, with offices at both the St. George and Mississauga campuses. Her research focuses on Symplectic Geometry, exploring Hamiltonian group actions, toric manifolds, and equivariant cohomology. She has extensive experience in teaching advanced mathematical courses like Analysis 1 (2020-2021) and Introduction to Symplectic Geometry (2019-2020).
- Key Research Areas: Symplectic Geometry, Geometric Quantization, Hamiltonian Dynamics, Diffeological Spaces, and Equivariant Cohomology.
- Scientific Recognition: 2024 Fellow of the Canadian Mathematical Society.
Her work includes foundational contributions to symplectic blowups, non-compact toric manifolds, and the classification of Hamiltonian torus actions. She actively collaborates with international researchers and maintains a prominent role in mathematical education and conference organization.
