Yael Karshon

Prof. Yael Karshon is a leading academic in theoretical mathematics, affiliated with Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Exact Sciences and Department of Theoretical Mathematics since 2021. She also holds a Professor position at the University of Toronto since 2006.

Her research focuses on Hamiltonian actions of Lie groups, rooted in symmetries and conservation laws of classical mechanics, with extensions to symplectic geometry, differential topology, geometric mechanics, and geometric quantization. She has held academic appointments at MIT, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the University of Toronto.
