Ya-Ling Huang

Ya-Ling Huang is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health, Department of Nursing at Southern Cross University. She holds additional roles as a Visiting Research Fellow at Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) and an Adjunct Research Fellow at Griffith University. Her expertise spans clinical research in acute and sub-acute care, vulnerable populations, and cultural diversity. Dr. Huang has secured over $250,000 in research grants and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. She actively engages in community initiatives, including multicultural networks and healthcare committees.

Education: PhD (Queensland University of Technology) and MNurs (Cancer Nursing, QUT). Research focuses on emergency and respiratory care, palliative care, chronic illness management, and culturally responsive healthcare practices. Methodologically, she employs qualitative and mixed-methods approaches.

Her 2023 award recognizes her contributions to inspiring research excellence. She mentors clinicians and students, having supervised 10 Master of Osteopathic Medicine projects and currently guiding Higher Degree Research students. Professional roles include membership in the Health Services, Clinical & Community Research Group and the Faculty of Health Research Committee.
