Anthony Hall is a Senior Lecturer at QUT's School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) from the University of Wales and has held roles including Advanced Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Teaching (University of Leeds) and Diploma in Medical Science (Palliative Care) from the University of Sheffield. His primary affiliation is with QUT, though he has served in conjoint roles at Griffith University and as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
His research interests focus on clinical pharmacy practices, with a strong emphasis on pain management (particularly persistent pain and palliative care), medication safety in older adults, and pharmacotherapy in geriatric populations. He has contributed to guidelines for syringe driver management and opioid rotation strategies. His work often intersects with clinical ethics and healthcare quality improvement.
Anthony has been actively involved in committees such as Queensland Health Medicines Advisory Committee, Gold Coast Clinical Ethics Committee, and Statewide Older Person’s Health Care Network. He has reviewed for the Journal of Pharmacy Practice & Research and contributed to clinical education initiatives like the Palliative Approach Toolkit Project.
His publications span topics including opioid misuse, medicinal cannabis in pain management, and standardizing palliative care practices. He maintains affiliations with healthcare institutions like the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Gold Coast Interdisciplinary Persistent Pain Centre.
