YIP Wei Luen James

YIP Wei Luen James is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, National University Hospital (Primary), and holds a joint appointment at the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. His research focuses on public health domains including biostatistics, epidemiology, health systems, and behavioral sciences. He leads initiatives in breast cancer prevention, climate and environmental health, infectious diseases, and physical activity nutrition determinants in Asia (PANDA).

He is involved in strategic initiatives like CoSTAR-HS (combating antimicrobial resistance), the National Cohorts Office, and the HIPER cohort studies. His work also extends to occupational health through the WHO Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health and the Occupational Health Education & Research Unit (OHERU).

Key research programs include the Singapore Breast Cancer Cohort (SGBCC), Singapore Chinese Health Study (SCHS), and Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS). He contributes to global health through partnerships like the Asia Centre for Health Security and international collaborations.
