معرفی
Dr. Xuyang (Rhett) Zhou is a Group Leader for Atomic Scale Dynamics of Sustainable Materials at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials, where he also serves as Deputy Group Leader for Atom Probe Tomography. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from The University of Alabama and graduate degrees from Dalian University of Technology.
His research program focuses on sustainable metallurgy, atomic-scale material dynamics, and hydrogen-based reduction processes, utilizing advanced techniques including in-situ TEM and atom probe tomography. His investigations span hydrogen-based iron oxide reduction, interfacial reactions in corrosion, and defect engineering in alloys.
Publications consistently demonstrate expertise in atomic-scale characterization of materials degradation, grain boundary phenomena, and sustainable alloy design. Recent work emphasizes in situ analysis of corrosion mechanisms and computational approaches to defect phase diagrams. His research has been recognized through an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship.
