معرفی
Dr. Tim Schwarz is a Group Leader and Walter-Benjamin Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials, leading the research group on 'Interfacial processes/reactions at the atomic scale'. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from RWTH Aachen University (2024) and prior degrees from the University of Stuttgart. His work focuses on advanced materials characterization using atom probe tomography (APT), cryogenic sample preparation, and interfacial reaction analysis.
Research interests include atom probe tomography applications for biological and metallic materials, corrosion mechanisms, high-entropy alloys, and sustainable material recycling. He has pioneered cryo-APT techniques for analyzing liquids and biomolecules at near-atomic resolution. His research addresses challenges in hydrogen diffusion, interfacial reactions, and functional material design.
Notable contributions include cryogenic processing of alloys, in-situ corrosion analysis, and optimizing APT methodologies for complex systems. His work bridges fundamental materials science with industrial applications in energy and biomedical fields.
