معرفی
Dr. Xufei Fang is a Research Fellow and Group Leader at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, leading groups in 'Dislocations in Ceramics' and 'Hydrogen Micromechanics' within the Institute for Applied Materials (IAM-MMI). Previously, they held positions as a Junior Group Leader at TU Darmstadt and a Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research (MPIE).
- Current Affiliations: KIT (2024–present), MPIE (2016–2019)
Research focuses on micromechanics, chemomechanical coupling in functional oxides, and high-temperature material behavior. Key areas include dislocation dynamics in ceramics and hydrogen-induced microstructural evolution. Their work bridges theoretical modeling with experimental validation in advanced materials.
Notable contributions include studies on ceramic dislocation behaviors and hydrogen effects, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Active in interdisciplinary collaborations, Fang's lab integrates computational mechanics with in-situ microscopy techniques.
- Awards: Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (2016–2019)
Advising and grants: Supervised multiple postdoctoral researchers during their tenure at TU Darmstadt and MPIE. Research projects funded through German Research Foundation (DFG) and EU initiatives. Current grants focus on ceramic dislocation mechanics and hydrogen embrittlement.
Labs/Teams: Lead the 'Dislocations in Ceramics' and 'Hydrogen Micromechanics' research groups at KIT, collaborating with Prof. Christoph Kirchlechner. Formerly part of Prof. Jürgen Rödel's ceramics group at TU Darmstadt.
