Xue Jin

Xue Jin is an Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering, Oregon State University, affiliated with the Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering department. Her research focuses on the water-energy nexus, particularly membrane-based water treatment technologies and renewable energy recovery from wastewater.

Her work includes developing osmotic membrane photobioreactors (osMPBRs) for energy-efficient wastewater treatment and microalgae harvesting, leveraging forward osmosis (FO) membranes and algae-based bioenergy systems. This technology aims to reduce energy consumption while enabling resource recovery, such as biofuels and biogas, aligning with global sustainability goals.
