Professor Xudong Cao is a faculty member at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Engineering, leading the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (2001), MASc from Toronto, and BASc from Beijing. His research focuses on biomaterials, tissue engineering, and microfluidic devices for medical and environmental applications. Key areas include nerve regeneration via biosynthesized cellulose conduits, pathogen detection using aptamer-based biosensors, and nanotechnology for diagnostic imaging.
