Dr Xu Huang is a Senior Lecturer in Business Analytics and Programme Lead of the Analytics, Information System & Operations Subject Group at Oxford Brookes Business School. She holds a PhD and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her research focuses on data-driven decision-making, emphasizing advancements in data science, AI, causal analysis, and their applications across sectors like finance, healthcare, and sustainability.
Dr Huang’s educational background includes a BSc, MSc, and PhD, reflecting her deep expertise in analytical fields. Her work spans causal relationships in energy markets, climate change impacts, and digital twin technologies for UN SDGs. She has published 1 book (with over 8,000 accesses) and over 30 journal articles, many in Q1 journals, including top-cited and viewed papers. Her research has been supported by roles as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Investigator (Co-I) in multiple funding projects and as a data science consultant for knowledge transfer initiatives.
Her publications highlight trends in blockchain applications (e.g., healthcare, banking), big data sustainability contributions, and causal analysis in climate and economic systems. She advises on PhD topics involving data science, forecasting, and interdisciplinary applications. Dr Huang also leads initiatives promoting digital twins and ethical technology integration, emphasizing human-centric digitalization.
