Xinxin Xiao is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Bioscience at Aalborg University, Denmark. Her research focuses on electrochemistry with applications in sustainable energy, health, and environmental solutions. She specializes in enzymatic bioelectrochemistry, electrocatalysis, and biofuel cells. Prior to joining AAU, Xiao held postdoctoral positions at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and earned her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Limerick, Ireland (2019).

Research Interests: Electrochemical charge transfer mechanisms, biofuel cell development, environmental electrochemistry, and bioelectronic medical devices. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy (SDG7), good health and well-being (SDG3), and climate action (SDG13).
Key Projects: Includes enzymatic bioelectrosynthesis for pharmaceuticals, self-powered wearables, and bioelectrochemical wound healing. She leads the EnBioAm project (2020–2023) targeting chiral amine synthesis.
