Xin Wang is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University, affiliated with the Centre for Language Sciences (CLaS), the Centre for Reading, and the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre. She holds a PhD in Psycholinguistics from the University of Arizona, an MA in Applied Linguistics, and a BA in English Literature. Her research focuses on bilingual language processing, particularly lexical tone, cross-language activation, and second language acquisition. She uses experimental methods like eye-tracking, ERPs, and behavioral paradigms. Current projects include studies on tonal language learning and bilingual lexical models.
Teaching includes courses on psycholinguistics, bilingualism, and language myths. Key research contributions address bilingual lexical integration and the role of lexical tones in cognitive mechanisms. Awards and grants include projects funded by HK Mobility and ARC DP. She supervises PhD students in experimental language research.
