معرفی
Xin Jin, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Scripps Research, where his work focuses on unraveling the genetic basis of neuropsychiatric disorders through innovative genomic and imaging approaches.
His research centers on mapping how genetic variants alter brain development, circuit organization, and neuronal anatomy across the entire brain. Using in vivo Perturb-seq technology combined with novel neuronal imaging methods, his lab investigates how risk genes disrupt cell migration, neuronal structure, and neural circuit formation during neurodevelopment. This work aims to identify convergent pathways among diverse genetic perturbations to enable genomic-inspired therapeutics for brain disorders.
- Pew Biomedical Scholar (2024)
Dr. Jin leads the Jin lab at Scripps Research, which integrates functional genomics with advanced brain imaging to systematically analyze genetic risk factors. His 2024 Pew Biomedical Scholar award supports this research into how hundreds of causally linked genes impact neurodevelopmental processes, with potential implications for understanding conditions like autism and schizophrenia.
