Xiaoyu Zheng

Xiaoyu Zheng is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Kent State University. With a PhD in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2006), he also holds an M.S. and B.S. in Mathematics from Jilin University (2001, 1999). His research bridges applied mathematics and computational modeling.

Research

• Modeling and simulation of anisotropic fluids
• Mathematical modeling of elastic devices

Recent Publications focus on nematic liquid crystals, nanocomposites, and computational geometry. His work explores shape effects, packing problems, and flow-induced anisotropy, with applications in soft matter and materials science.
