Dr. Xiaoxiao Zhang is a Research Scientist in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Engineering & Applied Science. She works in Professor Deyang Qu's energy research group, focusing on advanced materials and technologies for energy storage systems including lithium-ion, lithium metal, sodium-ion, and solid-state electrolyte batteries.
Her research spans battery recycling, prelithiation techniques, and novel battery architectures. Zhang holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (2016), an MS from the same institution (2012), and a BS from Qingdao University of Science and Technology (2009).
Zhang's publication portfolio demonstrates consistent focus on battery electrochemistry and materials engineering. Recent work explores solid-state battery interfaces, polysulfide management in lithium-sulfur systems, and sustainable recycling methods.
