Xiaoliang Zhang is a SUNY Empire Innovation Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo, with an adjunct appointment in Electrical Engineering. He has held leadership roles including Associate Chair at SUNY Buffalo and Director/PI at the UCSF High Field MR Technology Laboratory.
Research Expertise
His work focuses on advancing MRI technology across biomedical domains, including:
- High and ultrahigh field MR imaging/spectroscopy
- Neuroimaging and interventional MRI
- Hardware innovations for MR systems
- Fast imaging via parallel and compressed sensing techniques
