Prof. Xiaofei Pan is a Professor of Finance at the University of Wollongong’s School of Business, serving as Head of Postgraduate Studies and Co-Director of the Centre of Contemporary Australasian Business and Economics (CCABES). His research focuses on corporate finance, political economy, FinTech, and financial institutions, with publications in top journals like Management Science and Review of Finance. He has received multiple awards for teaching and research, including the Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning (OCTAL) in 2020.
Education: PhD in Finance from the University of Wollongong (2008–2011). Current roles include editorial work at Emerging Market Review and leadership in professional organizations like the American Finance Association.
Research interests span empirical corporate finance, political economy in China, FinTech innovation, bank lending, and accounting practices. Recent projects address climate change impacts, ESG performance, and biodiversity risk in corporate strategy.
Supervision: Actively guides PhD students in topics like FinTech and sustainability, ESG in Chinese SMEs, and political dynamics in corporate governance. Grants include funding from the Australian Research Council and industry partnerships.
Labs/Teams: Leads the CCABES research hub, focusing on contemporary business and economic challenges in Australasia and beyond.
