Dr. Xianglin Du is a tenured Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health. He holds a medical degree and MS in Clinical Epidemiology from Anhui Medical University, China, and a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of Manchester, England. His research spans epidemiologic methods, health disparities, clinical comparative effectiveness, and post-marketing surveillance of cancer therapies, with a focus on leveraging cancer registry and Medicare claims data for large-cohort studies.
- Current R01 Grant (May 2020 – January 2025): Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias linked to hypertension, diabetes, and cancer drug therapies
- Previous R01 Grant (August 2018 – March 2024): Long-term benefits and harms of antihypertensive drugs in the elderly
Dr. Du has mentored 172 graduate students (88 as formal advisor) and co-authored 214 peer-reviewed publications. His teaching excellence has been recognized by student and institutional awards.
