Professor Xiang Zhang holds the Ernest S. Kuh Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley and serves as Director of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Materials Sciences Division. He leads the NSF Nano-scale Science and Engineering Center and the Kavli Energy Nano Science Institute. His research focuses on nanophotonics, metamaterials, and energy conversion technologies.
