Dr. Maier received his PhD in Applied Physics in 2003. His group investigates light/matter interactions at the nanoscale, develops optical biosensors, light harvesting nanostructures for photovoltaics, and novel materials for photonic nanotechnology. His research integrates principles from Optical Physics, Nanotechnology, and Quantum Physics.
The selected publication highlights his contributions to plasmonics, focusing on theoretical and applied advancements in nanophotonics and metamaterials. This aligns with his group's broader work in integrating nanoscale optical phenomena with practical applications in sensing and energy conversion.
