Dr. Xiang Bing serves as Founding Dean and Dean's Distinguished Chair Professor of China Business and Globalization at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), while also holding roles as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Senior Advisor to the Dean. Under his leadership since CKGSB's establishment in November 2002, the institution has evolved into one of China's most influential business schools with global recognition.
His educational foundation includes a PhD from the University of Alberta. Dr. Xiang is internationally recognized for expertise in China's business transformation, frequently delivering keynotes at premier forums including Harvard College China Forum (2017-2024), Penn Wharton China Summit (2023-2025), and Columbia China Forum (2024).
Research centers on economic disruption, business in China, and global implications of China's economic transformation. His work examines innovation by Chinese companies, SOE reform, and China-U.S. relations, with recent focus shifting toward AI-driven innovation as evidenced in 2025 publications analyzing China's technological emergence.
Dr. Xiang maintains significant external engagements as independent board member for Fortune Global 500 companies, Advisory Board member for Asia House (London), Counselor for One Young World Summit (Dublin), and advisor to scholarly societies including Fundação Dom Cabral (Brazil) and Yonsei School of Business (Korea).
