معرفی
Dr. Xiamei Man is a Research Fellow at the Australian Rivers Institute, Griffith University, where they have been active since April 2024. They concurrently hold an Honorary Fellow position at the University of Queensland's School of Civil Engineering. Previously, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Queensland (2021-2024) across both the School of Civil Engineering and Sustainable Minerals Institute.
Education includes:
- Ph.D. from University of Sydney (2018-2023) specializing in hydrodynamic and water-quality modeling
- Bachelor of Geological Engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai (2012-2016)
Research focuses on interdisciplinary water systems analysis with emphases on:
- Coastal geohazards including retrogressive breach failures and underwater landslides
- Benthic boundary layer dynamics in aquatic environments
- Computational modeling of sediment-water interactions
- Reservoir and lake hydrodynamics
- Water-quality monitoring frameworks for sustainable management
Publication trends demonstrate progression from fundamental sediment oxygen kinetics (2020) to advanced coastal failure mechanisms (2025), integrating field observations, laboratory experiments, and multi-dimensional modeling approaches across marine, estuarine, and lacustrine systems.
Significant grant involvement includes:
- Rainbow Channel Migration Rate Research (Redland City Council, 2023, $46,000) investigating coastal morphodynamics
Collaborative networks include the Carey Lab at Virginia Tech (US) for reservoir oxygen dynamics research during doctoral studies. Additional language capabilities include Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
