Assoc. Professor Shuqing Yang is an Associate Professor at the School of Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering, University of Wollongong, Australia, since 2007. He leads research in sediment transport, hydraulics, and coastal reservoir development, with a focus on estuary dynamics, water resource management, and environmental engineering. His work bridges experimental and theoretical approaches, emphasizing sustainable solutions for water scarcity and climate adaptation.
Research Interests:
- Sediment Transport Mechanisms
- Coastal Reservoir Design and Applications
- Estuarine Hydrodynamics and Salinity Management
- Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources
- Hydraulic Engineering and Fluid Mechanics
His recent articles analyze tidal-river interactions in estuaries, salinity intrusion mitigation, and coastal reservoir reliability under climate scenarios. Awards include Fellowship in the International Association for Coastal Reservoir Research (2018) and founding roles in related international organizations. He supervises PhD/Master's projects on coastal reservoir feasibility, water quality modeling, and sediment dynamics. Key grants include funding for coastal reservoir development in Jakarta and Melbourne’s water supply strategies. He directs the Center for Coastal Reservoir Research, advancing interdisciplinary solutions for global water security.
