Xavier Solans Monfort is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry (2003) and a Licenciatura in Chemistry (1998), both from UAB. His research focuses on computational chemistry, catalysis, and materials science, particularly in designing electrocatalysts, photocatalytic materials, and studying reaction mechanisms using DFT. He has led multiple projects funded by institutions like the Spanish Ministry of Economy and the European Regional Development Fund. Notable awards include the Ramón y Cajal Fellowship (2006–2011).
