XU Qing-Hua is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore (NUS), affiliated with the Faculty of Science. His research focuses on nonlinear optical properties of novel nanocomposite materials and their applications in biomedicine and energy. He holds a B.Sc. from Zhejiang University, M.Sc. degrees from Peking University and the University of Chicago, a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, and postdoctoral training at Stanford University and UC Santa Barbara.

Publications highlight advancements in plasmonic nanostructures, photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, and multifunctional theranostic agents. Awards include the NUS Outstanding Chemist Award (2015) and Young Scientist Award (2008).
