CHIN Wee Shong is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head (Administration) in the Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from NUS (1993) and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from NUS (1987), with a Commonwealth Fellowship at the University of Bristol (1994). His research focuses on nanomaterial synthesis and applications in energy storage, sensors, and photocatalysis. Key achievements include the development of carbonate-free layered double hydroxides and flexible SERS substrates.

- Biosynthesis of antimicrobial silver nanoparticles using plant extracts
