Wu Ke is an Associate Professor and Master Supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Shandong University, where he also serves as Deputy Director of the Department. His academic qualifications include a B.Eng. (1997-2001) and M.Eng. (2001-2004) from Shandong University, and a Ph.D. (2004-2008) from Dalian University of Technology. He previously held positions as Lecturer at Shandong University (2008-2011) and Postdoctoral Fellow at Beijing Jiaotong University (2012-2014).
His research focuses on:
- Stability and catastrophic mechanisms of underground engineering structures
- Urban rail transit impacts on environment and disaster control
- Offshore engineering structural stability
- Civil engineering theory and numerical methods
His publications (2015-2018) demonstrate strong emphasis on geotechnical challenges, with recurring themes in tunnel mechanics (60% of papers), offshore foundations (25%), and expansive soil behavior (15%). Most articles involve experimental/modeling approaches to structural failure analysis under environmental stresses.
Awards:
Third Prize, Jilin Province Science and Technology Award (2017) for transmission line engineering research.
Advising & Grants:
Supervised 5+ postgraduates; students earned national scholarships and international admissions. Secured 30+ research projects including:
- 1 National Natural Science Foundation grant
- 2 Shandong Province NSF grants
- 20+ industry-funded projects (e.g., China Railway, Power Construction Co.)
Holds memberships in the Underground Engineering Branch of Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics, China Hydraulic Engineering Association, and serves as reviewer for Journal of Geotechnical Engineering and Ocean Engineering.
