Wonji Kim

Wonji Kim is a Senior Lecturer in Violin at the Strings Department of Mozarteum University's School of Music & Art Education (SOMA). She has been affiliated with the institution since October 2003, teaching her own violin class following her habilitation in 2019. Previously, she served as an assistant to Prof. Igor Ozim at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna and Bern from 1996 to 2003. She also held guest professor roles at the University of Art in Graz (summer 2011) and G. Mahler Private University (2018–2019).

Her musical career includes solo performances with renowned orchestras such as the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Bern Symphony Orchestra, and Zurich Chamber Orchestra. Notable performances include appearances at the Sandor Veress Festival, 'Tous les Violons du Monde' (Bern), and festivals in Salzburg, Ljubljana, and Lithuania. As a chamber musician, she has participated in Herbsttöne Salzburg and Mattseer Diabellisommer.

Awarded top prizes in national competitions and the Federation of Migros Cooperatives, Kim began her violin studies in Seoul under Prof. Li-Song, later studying with Prof. Max Rostal and completing her soloist diploma under Prof. Igor Ozim at the Bern Conservatory in 1994.
