Prof. Katrin Scholz is a renowned violinist and Professor of Violin at the University of the Arts Bremen since 1998, becoming Germany's youngest professor at the time. She also teaches at the Julius Stern Institute of the UdK Berlin and the C.Ph.E. Bach-Gymnasium in Berlin. A multiple prizewinner of international competitions, her career spans performances with major orchestras like the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and collaborations with conductors such as Michael Sanderling. She led the Berlin Chamber Orchestra as Artistic Director from 1995–2014, producing acclaimed recordings for labels like edel music and JVC Victor. Her discography includes works by Haydn, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. She has performed globally, from Teatro Colón Buenos Aires to Suntory Hall Tokyo, and mentors students in Bremen and beyond.
Education: Studied with Werner Scholz at Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin and Igor Ozim at Bern Conservatory (HKB). Her teaching emphasizes violin performance and chamber music. She has produced over 20 CDs, focusing on classical repertoire and partnerships with pianists like Gerald Fauth. Her awards include prestigious competition prizes and scholarships for her students. Recent events include violin studio concerts at HfK Bremen and participation in festivals like Schwetzingen and Rheingau.
