Womai Song is an Associate Professor of African & African American Studies and History at Earlham College, serving as Director of the African & African American Studies department. He holds a Ph.D. from Howard University and B.A./M.A. degrees from the University of Buea (Cameroon). His research focuses on colonial/post-colonial transitions in German colonies, African women's political roles, and intersections between the African Diaspora and Sub-Saharan Africa. He is spearheading an initiative to establish study programs at the African Union Commission and Pan-African University campuses.

Research Interests: Explores double colonial legacies in Cameroon, Togo, Namibia, and others; examines historical memory of enslavement and colonialism; analyzes African women's agency in post-colonial narratives; and investigates Caribbean-African diasporic connections. Recent work includes studies on food security in Cameroon's Kom Fondom and endangered indigenous archives.
Key Contributions: Co-developed initiatives linking Earlham with African Union institutions. Presented widely on topics like Cameroon's political crises, Winnie Mandela's legacy, and stereotypes about Africa. Active in community-based learning through oral history projects and cultural festivals.
