Wolfgang Schuhmann

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schuhmann serves as Professor and Chair of Analytical Chemistry within the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ruhr University Bochum. His research group specializes in electrochemical systems with applications in sustainable energy technologies.

Research focuses on energy conversion catalysts, advanced battery systems, and micro/nanoelectrochemical biosensors. The group develops novel electrocatalytic materials and sensor technologies within the university's broader framework of solvation science and functional materials research, particularly aligned with the RESOLV Cluster of Excellence.
