Wolfgang Rudolf Bauer

Prof. Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat. Wolfgang Rudolf Bauer is a Senior Physician at Medical Clinic I of the University Hospital Würzburg, part of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Würzburg. He holds leadership positions as Head of the Cardiac MRI and Biophysics Research Group, Head of Clinical Electrophysiology, and Head of MRI Imaging. As a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology, his clinical work focuses on catheter interventions, heart rhythm disorders, cardiac imaging, and heart failure treatment.

His research spans Clinical Electrophysiology and MRI Imaging/Biophysics, with investigations into cardiac signal conduction, structural heart disease diagnostics, and novel imaging techniques. He collaborates with the German Center for Heart Failure Würzburg (DZHI) on translational cardiology research.
