معرفی
Wolf Barfuss is an Argelander (Tenure-Track) Assistant Professor at the University of Bonn, Germany, affiliated with the Transdisciplinary Research Area (TRA) Sustainable Futures and the Center for Development Research (ZEF). He is also part of the AEI Faculty, the Cluster of Excellence PhenoRob, and the Bonn-Cologne-Juelich Earth Resilience Science Unit.
His research focuses on collective learning models to understand how individual decisions aggregate into sustainable collective action in complex environments. Key areas include social-ecological systems, renewable resource management, and governance networks. His work integrates agent-based modeling, reinforcement learning, and complex systems analysis to explore pathways for sustainability transitions.
Barfuss has published extensively on topics such as resilience in human-Earth systems, decision-making dynamics in multi-agent environments, and the interplay between social norms and resource use. His recent work emphasizes the role of moderate confirmation bias and stochastic processes in promoting cooperation.
He teaches courses on systems modeling, sustainability economics, and agent-based modeling at the University of Bonn and collaborates with institutions like the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Princeton University.
