Wojciech Gabryelski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Guelph, part of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from Gdansk Institute of Technology (Poland), and a Ph.D. in Mass Spectrometry from the University of Alberta (Canada). His research focuses on analytical mass spectrometry, particularly developing advanced techniques for characterizing complex mixtures in environmental and biological samples. Key methods include coupling mass spectrometry with nano-flow UPLC and FAIMS. His lab explores environmental pollutants, biomarkers, and novel separation techniques, with applications in water quality and biomarker detection.
Research Interests: Analytical Chemistry, Biological Mass Spectroscopy, Environmental Chemistry, and Pollution Analysis. His work emphasizes improving analytical methods through cutting-edge instrumentation like FAIMS, which enhances sensitivity and selectivity for trace contaminants.
Current group members include Daniel Beach and Jadwiga Lyczko, while past students include Lisa Rabson (M.Sc. 2009) and Natalia Kulikova (M.Sc. 2009). His lab is located in SSC 1247, with an office in SSC 1248.
Publications highlight advancements in mass spectrometry applications for DNA adducts, environmental contaminants, and biomarker identification. His work has been featured in journals like J. Am. Soc. Mass Spectrom. and Anal. Chem..
