Wissal Ben-Jmaa

Wissal Ben-Jmaa serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal, and holds leadership as head of the Neonatology Department at CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal).

Her academic training includes three years of specialized neonatology at Sainte-Justine University Hospital in Montreal and one year in Paris, France, encompassing neonatal intensive care and clinical research.

Research interests center on Neonatology, Pediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Clinical Research methodologies. She has contributed to three multicenter studies, presented findings 25 times at scientific conferences, and published six peer-reviewed journal articles.

Educationally, Dr. Ben Jmaa instructs medical students in courses MMD 3703 and MMD 1228 while mentoring family medicine residents in neonatal clinical practice.

As department head, she oversees the CHUM Neonatology team responsible for clinical care, teaching programs, and research initiatives within the Department of Pediatrics.
