Wioletta Szymczak

Dr. hab. Wioletta Szymczak, Professor at Catholic University of Lublin, is a distinguished sociologist specializing in social participation, civil society, and religious sociology. Affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences, she has led the Department of Sociology of Culture, Religion and Social Participation since 2022 and served as Institute Director (2016-2020).

• Education: PhD in Sociology (2002), Habilitation in Social Participation Sociology (2014), both from Catholic University of Lublin. Graduate of Social Communication Studies.

Research Focus: Her work spans civil society institutions, religious transformations, qualitative methodology, and public life axiology. Recent studies examine Nordic Walking as social integration (2025), religious participation models (2024), and youth engagement (2022).

Scientific Contributions: She leads interdisciplinary projects like "Youth and Catechesis" (2019-2021) and participated in "Global Recession in Christian Marriage" (2016-2017). International collaborations include research internships in Germany and publications in journals like Scientific Reports and Religions.

Academic Leadership: Organizer of national methodology seminars (2016-2020) and scientific director of doctoral symposia. Editor of key sociology works including 100 lat socjologii w KUL (2018).
