Winter J. Smith

Winter J. Smith, Pharm.D., BCPS is a Clinical Professor at the Fisch College of Pharmacy, University of Texas at Tyler. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and completed PGY1 and PGY2 residencies at Parkland Health & Hospital System and Duke University Medical Center, respectively.

• PGY1 Residency, Parkland Health & Hospital System (2004)

Research & Teaching: Focuses on pharmacy student education and competency assessment. Teaches cardiology, drug information, and infectious diseases in the Pharm.D. curriculum. Serves as primary preceptor for adult medicine APPEs and coordinates the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Medical City Plano.

Professional Service: Active in national initiatives for pharmacist competency assessment and residency accreditation. Previously held roles as residency program director for 9 years and director of residency programs for 2 years across OU and Texas Tech.

Labs/Teams: Engaged in interdisciplinary clinical pharmacy teams and residency training programs.
