Pamella Ochoa is the Interim Dean and Clinical Professor at The University of Texas at Tyler Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy, overseeing Experiential Education. She holds a Pharm.D. from Texas Tech University (2003), a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency from UT Health Tyler (2004), and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Genetics from Texas A&M (2000). Her career spans clinical pharmacy practice, academic leadership, and sterile compounding education.
Dr. Ochoa’s research focuses on sterile compounding safety, clinical pharmacy education, and diabetes management. She co-authored the textbook Concepts in Sterile Preparations and Aseptic Technique and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Her work emphasizes interprofessional collaboration and patient safety in healthcare settings.

- Recipient of the W. T. “Doc” Ballard Award (2021)
- Developed nationally recognized sterile compounding certification courses
Dr. Ochoa has advised over 20 PGY1 residents and led numerous grants, including a $50,000 laboratory development grant. She serves on university councils, professional organization boards, and community health initiatives.
