William Zachariah Mundy is a Lecturer in the Department of Government and Politics and the MLAW Programs at the University of Maryland, specializing in trial advocacy and public law. He teaches courses such as Intro to Trial Advocacy and Advanced Trial Advocacy. As a practicing attorney, he directs the University of Maryland's Graduate Student Legal Aid Office (GLAO) and has contributed to policy initiatives on affordable housing and student support through the Undocumented Student Working Group and International Student Working Group.
He serves as Director of the Maryland Mock Trial Program, a five-time national champion, and holds a Board position with the American Mock Trial Association. Mundy graduated with a BA in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland and earned his Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law.
His research interests focus on public interest law, poverty & inequality, legal institutions, and dispute resolution. He previously litigated complex cases for the District of Columbia government at trial and appellate levels.
