William Webster is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sunderland. He joined the institution in 2020 and previously worked at other universities in the north-east, as well as a private adolescent forensic unit supporting vulnerable youths. His research focuses on the psychology of serious and violent offending, investigative interviewing techniques, and sexual harassment in higher education.

- Executive Committee member of the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG)
His PhD research explored the impact of investigative interviews on rape victims and included empirical analysis of police ABE interviews, victims' cooperation factors, and officers' perceptions of rapport/empathy efficacy.
Current research examines how perceptions of sexual harassment are influenced by contextual factors, aligning with his forensic psychology expertise and practical experience in criminal justice settings.
