Dr William Tullett is an Associate Professor in Sensory History at Anglia Ruskin University. His research focuses on the historical study of smell, gender, bodies, and environmental interactions. He leads the Odeuropa project, an EU Horizon 2020 initiative tracing Europe's olfactory heritage through interdisciplinary collaboration between history, museum studies, and computational sciences. Recent publications include Smell and the Past (2023, open access) and Smell in Eighteenth-Century England (2019). His current research explores sensory education histories and multi-species olfactory environments.
His work bridges humanities and sciences through projects like Odeuropa, which combines archival research with digital heritage tools. He actively promotes open access scholarship and interdisciplinary methodologies in historical studies.
