Dr William Tayler is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Lancaster University Management School, where he holds the role of Part 2 Director of Studies (Economics). His dual research focus spans macroeconomic theory, particularly financial frictions and policy frameworks, and innovative economics education through social media. He co-leads the @dailylifeEcon project, leveraging platforms like Instagram to bridge economic theory with real-world applications.
Teaching responsibilities include modules on Monetary Macroeconomics, Macroeconomic Analysis, and Macroeconomics for Money, Banking, and Finance. He actively participates in academic networks such as the Northern Economics Network and serves as a PhD External Examiner at Aston University.
His awards include the University Level Pilkington Teaching Award (Highly Commended) and LUMS Dean’s Award 2021 for Digital Education. Research contributions span articles in leading journals, addressing topics like liquidity traps, macroprudential policies, and the integration of social media in education.
Dr Tayler advises PhD students focusing on macroeconomic modeling and policies, with completed students now in roles at the Home Office and Pfizer. He remains committed to advancing research-led teaching and policy-relevant macroeconomic analysis.
