William T. Reddinger, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Government & Criminal Justice at Regent University. He specializes in political philosophy and American politics, serving as Director of the Lincoln Program in America’s Founding Principles, which hosts reading groups and guest lectures. He has taught at Regent since 2010, previously at Wheaton College and South Texas College.
Dr. Reddinger earned a B.A. from Grove City College (Pennsylvania), followed by M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University, focusing on the history of political philosophy and American political thought. His research emphasizes themes like Reformed Protestant resistance theory, virtue ethics in the founding era, and the intersection of biblical principles with political institutions.
His publications explore topics such as Calvinist resistance doctrines, the ethical foundations of the American Revolution, and competing virtue philosophies in early American political discourse.
