William Sparks is the Dennis Thompson Chair & Professor of Leadership at the McColl School of Business, Queens University of Charlotte, and serves as Director of the Office of Leadership Initiatives. He founded the M.S. in Organization Development (MSOD) Program at the McColl School in 2008 and directed it until 2013.
- Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Development from George Washington University
- M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management from Appalachian State University
- B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Winthrop University
His research focuses on leadership development, organizational culture, group dynamics, and board governance. He designed the Actualized Leader Profile assessment tool, which has been translated into nine languages. Sparks has appeared in major media outlets like NPR, The Washington Post, and WBTV Channel 3.
