Carla Sparks serves as the Educational Leadership Program Director at the Florida Regional Center of National College of Education, National Louis University (NLU). With a distinguished career spanning educational leadership, she has earned her Ed. D. in Educational Leadership and Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from NLU, along with a Bachelor's in English from Roberts Wesleyan College.
Dr. Sparks' research focuses on educational leadership, project-based learning, and gender differentiated instruction grounded in neuroscientific brain research. Her work particularly emphasizes innovative instructional practices including Capstone Projects, authentic instruction, problem-based learning, and inquiry-based learning. She has implemented Capstone Projects as a school-wide requirement that became a cross-curricular experience for students.
Her scholarly publications address student engagement, career pathways, and educational program development. These works demonstrate a consistent focus on connecting theoretical frameworks with practical classroom applications, particularly in the areas of gender-specific educational approaches and authentic assessment methods.

Dr. Sparks has extensive experience working with Hillsborough County Public Schools, Florida, where she served as Supervisor of Single Gender Programs since 2011 and expanded her role in 2013 to include various Choice curriculum programs. She has trained educators on topics ranging from Teacher Induction Training to Classroom Action Research and has presented workshops at local, state, and national education conferences.
