William Shields

William Shields serves as a Lecturer in Accelerator Physics within the Department of Physics at Royal Holloway, University of London, and is affiliated with the Centre for Particle Physics and Astronomy. Holding an ORCID identifier (0000-0002-4825-0303), he actively contributes to accelerator science through research and teaching.

His research spans Accelerator Physics, Particle Physics, and Radiobiological Applications, with specific focus on beam dynamics, radiation resiliency, and laser-hybrid acceleration systems. Notable work includes the Laser-hybrid Accelerator for Radiobiological Applications (LHARA) project, aiming to develop novel accelerator technologies for medical research.
