William Shafarman is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Energy Conversion at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering. His research focuses on compound semiconductors for thin film solar cells and optoelectronic applications, particularly Cu(InGa)Se2 (CIGS) alloys and hybrid perovskites. He earned a B.S. in Physics from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Rochester.
