William S. Davis is an Assistant Professor of World Languages Education at the University of Oklahoma's Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education. He specializes in K-12 world languages pedagogy, emergent bilingual education, and education research. His work focuses on language teacher agency, leadership development, and social justice advocacy in language education.
Dr. Davis teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to world language instruction and collaborates with institutions like the OK Deaf-Blind Project and the K20 Center. His research explores resilience in early career teachers, the impact of leadership programs, and strategies to increase world language teacher recruitment.
His publications emphasize teacher agency in multilingual advocacy, the role of professional associations, and applying self-determination theory to language pedagogy. He actively contributes to initiatives like the Leadership Initiative for Language Learning (LILL) and has conducted field-based studies integrating community non-profits into educational experiences.
